HANDLE WITH CARE
World Food Safety Day
The World Health Organization offers these
tips for World Food Safety Day (June 7).
SEPARATE
Avoid contact between
raw and cooked food by
using separate cutting
boards and washing
your hands often.
GET COOKIN’
Calling all chefs
If you are a professional chef and you use ingredients
from Costco for recipes that are part of your holiday
meal planning, we’d love to hear from you for possible
inclusion in an upcoming cover story. Please send an
email to
[email protected] that briefly describes
how foods from Costco figure into your creations.
Please put “Pro chef” in the subject line.
REHEAT
Reheat food thoroughly,
with all parts reaching at least
74 C (165 F). When you use a
food thermometer, make sure
you place it in the centre of
the thickest part of the food.

soap and water before
handling food and often
while preparing food.
STORE
Store cooked food in
either hot (at or above
60 C/140 F) or cool
(at or below 4 C/40 F)
conditions.

Make it a #FlowerFriday
#FlowerFriday
Commit to a weekly (or monthly) colour infusion
and pick up fresh flowers on your regular Costco
run. Fresh flowers, when purchased regularly
(or for special occasions), can help perk up your
day, desk or dining room table. Look for the
flower display in your local Costco warehouse
or check out the offerings at Costco.ca.
