CHOOSING YOUR
AIR COMPRESSOR
Determine how the compressor will be used.
• Small or heavy-duty work, casual or frequent use, indoors or outdoors.
Identify the flow (CFM) and pressure (PSI)
requirements of the air tools you will use.
• Using multiple tools at the same time requires more flow.
• Larger 80-gallon compressors work best for continuous,
all-day use with multiple users.
• Ensure air compressor CFM meets or exceeds air tool CFM requirements.
Remember, If you want to run two tools at the same time, add the CFM
of both tools and multiply that by 1.5 to ensure peak performance.
Portable or stationary?
Ev03_(255803)_EN_ D Mail_W3
• Portable units provide compressed air anywhere.
• Stationary units are meant to stay put. They are larger,
heavier and typically offer more power.
CFM (cubic feet per minute): the amount of air needed to run efficiently,
and the amount of air the pump produces.
PSI (pounds per square inch): the amount of stored
energy in your air tank. Higher PSI = longer air tool
run time.
