2020 Catalogue Cover Contest Winner
We’d like to thank all the participants for submitting their artwork! We’ve received over 880 entries
from every province and territory, showcasing artwork inspired by our product categories.
It wasn’t easy picking a winner, but congratulations to Kim Collins for winning the $5,000 prize!
“I am an 80’s kid who grew up on a farm in northern Ontario and spent many childhood summer days playing in the
implement shed, garage and barn with my older brother. Those days were simpler - no Wifi and no cellphones, and we had to
make our own entertainment.
“Rad Dad” is a celebration of those times and a dedication to the “Rad Dads” out there who teach, inspire and play with their
kids on projects. The whole family is involved, working together to build a soapbox car in the garage (even the family dog!).
No project is complete without the tools and parts from the local Princess Auto!
What I like about Princess Auto: The randomness. You never know what you will find or need for your next project until
you walk the aisles.”
A self-proclaimed amateur barista, Kim is a graphic designer and fine artist from Niagara, Ontario. Specializing in bicycle and
sporting goods graphics, Kim operates a home-based design business. When not pushing paint or pixels, Kim enjoys skiing,
mountain biking and windsurfing with her husband Doug.
“Never Too Young”
This is my adorable son Corey when he was three years old.
His Grandfather went to go get another tool in the garage to change
his truck tire, and when he came back Corey was just “giving ‘er”...so
he went and grabbed his camera, took Corey’s picture, and l painted
it. He has always been interested in cars and tools, and is now
twenty-five years old and a mechanic technician. Goes to show
they are never too young to start taking them to Princess Auto!
“FATHER & SON in the Garage”
Vintage Retro Style
The Princess Auto cover contest was brought to Eric’s attention by a
friend, thinking it would be a project he would be perfect for. Eric’s
concept of the father and son image came to him quickly, thinking
the artwork would give a vintage feel good feeling to the cover and
allow all text and logo layouts to fit nicely. With a commercial sign
shop of his own, Eric often visits his local Princess Auto store
located just down the road in the city of Moncton for tools and
equipment for the shop.
